11 weeks, 4 days & Baby Pics!

These are our first "photos" of our baby. Most people don't have an ultrasound until they are ten weeks along, but in our case, we had already had three of them by then, so we don't get another one until we're about 15 weeks (Walt says 18 weeks, but I'm hoping it's 15).

The one on top is at 6 weeks, 2 days, and all you could see was the yolk sak, and no baby, or heartbeat. That was probably one of the worst days of our lives. We both cried, and prayed, a lot.

The bottom right was our answered prayer picture! This one was at 7 weeks, 0 days, and there you are! The baby is the white spot on the top right, and the heart was beating so fast! I cried. The nurse said, "Well, we just have no idea when this baby was conceived." And I said, "Only God knows!"

The bottom left picture was at 8 weeks, 0 days, and we got to see your head (left) and little arms and backside! I love this picture.

We still haven't decided on whether or not to find out if it's a boy or a girl. I keep fluctuating back and forth. I love the idea of being surprised, but it's so tempting to find out!

Oh, and I threw up for the first time this morning! I've come close many times (it's brushing my teeth and the tongue scraper that do it.) But this morning was the full deal...sort of. I didn't have anything in my stomache but water, so it could have been worse! I know I've had it pretty easy compared to a lot of people! I was actually kind of proud of throwing up...it's one more confirmation that I'm really pregnant! Of course, having that confirmation every morning wouldn't be so much fun.

How your baby's growing: (from babycenter.com)
Your fig-sized baby is now fully formed — measuring 1 1/2 inches long and weighing in at a quarter of an ounce. His skin is still transparent, allowing many of his blood vessels to show through. Some of his bones are beginning to harden, and tiny toothbuds are starting to appear under his gums. His fingers and toes have separated, and he may soon be able to open and close his fists. He's already busy kicking and stretching, and his tiny movements are so fluid they look like water ballet. These movements will increase as his body grows and becomes more developed and functional. As his diaphragm develops, your tiny tenant may also start to get the hiccups. Because he's still so small, though, you won't feel any of his workouts or intrauterine gulps until sometime between weeks 16 and 20.

Hi Saundra, I know, it's unbelievable that they can tell it's a girl from our picture. I guess it's the three lines that tells all. So far I don't have any regrets about finding out. It has only made my anticipation greater and I feel more of a bond with the baby knowing she is a baby girl. So either way I think you'll be happy finding out or waiting! Is your belly starting to show yet? Bring on the baby shower! Love Shelly

hurray for morning sickness! Have you started the ritual of photographing your belly every week?
