Christmas at the Umholtz Farm

Merry Christmas!

We spent this Christmas at my family farm. It was great seeing family, especially my nephews Hudson and Ethan. Unfortunately, they both got sick with a runny nose flu bug, so that wasn't much fun for them.

Walt and I gave them the chairs we made for them, both are "bathroom blue" and I painted Noah's Ark on the front, and their names on the backs. Ethan was hilarious, he would point to the back of his chair and I would spell out "Ethan" and then he would go and point to the back of Hudson's chair and I would spell out "Hudson" and say "This is Hudson's chair." And then he would look at me, point to "Hudson" and say "Baby."

He also said my name for the first time...well, it was more like "Zsa Zsa" than "Saundra" but it was enough to get lots of kisses and squels from his Aunt. Especially since he's been saying "Watt" for Walt for months now.

Hudson is his usual, adorable, dimply, happy self. He's just about to walk...almost, but not quite. He loved his chair and thought it was quite hilarious to sit in it, then stand up, then repeat five or six times.

Christmas day was bittersweet. It was great being with family, but difficult in light of our baby situation.

We're praying for Mike and Jenny and Ethan to move to OKC for his residency. He is not convinced by any stretch, but I would love to have them here and be able to see my nephew grow up...at least for 4 years.
