So, today (well, technically it was yesterday, it's 5:48 and I've been up since about 1:30, so it still seems like "today." Dang insomnia.)
Anyway, YESTERDAY I had my first round of Acupuncture for endometriosis, and etc. It was interesting, and good, but weird. I've never been all that fond of needles, and the thought of having someone sticking numerous little ones all over my body wasn't all that pleasant.
However, the actual reality of it wasn't all that bad. In fact, once they were in, they didn't hurt at all, and the getting in part was more like...oh, maybe the feeling of a mosquito bite, but without the itching afterward.
And much less unpleasant than the other fertility crap we've been through. Less embarrassing and humiliating and painful as a whole. So, I give Acupuncture a 6 on a scale of 1-10. I highly recommend it. My dr's website is www.harmonyok.com and apparently he's one of the best in the area. And if you're going to have someone jacking needles in your face, and ears, and legs, and stomache, and scalp...he might as well be the best.
Interesting statistics you don't hear every day...in a study done on women doing IVF, with similar quality embryos, the women who had one round of acupuncture before the procedure and one round after had double the success rates of the other non-acupuncture IVF group. Not a bad bit of info if you're about to invest three months of shots in the rear and egg harvesting, and a good chunk of cash. (We're not doing IVF, I just thought it was interesting....at 3am things seem more interesting than they would at a normal hour of the day.)

You silly girl! I'm a super big proponent of acupuncture actually. It made post-chemo so much better, seriously like night & day! But yikes, I hope you're sleeping better! Those were very interesting & encouraging stats! Sweet friend, it is BEAUTIFUL outside & I must go enjoy it! Love you! Wendy.
