Here are my Dad and Jeff (Walt's brother) putting together the crib. I asked Walt if it would be upsetting to him if he didn't put it together. At first he said yes, but then I reminded him that he also has the priviledge (and the to do list) of remodeling her closet, painting her closet, cutting up all the downed ice storm trees, putting together her new changing table...and he was all for the help!
And here is my sweet hubby and Daddy to be, taking care of some of his unending "to do" list! He was very impressed with my stroller and carseat selection, though he made fun of me to no end about the length and depth of my research into these items! The carseat was a big one for me...I obsessed just a bit! His only objection is the orange (OU.) Sigh.
Well, the finish line (or the starting line...depending on how you look at it) is in sight! Or, it should be anyway. I'm dilated to a "2" and still 50% effaced. The midwife/nurse said that's good for being my first pregnancy, and we shouldn't go longer than Jan. 11th, though she could be here any day!
We're so excited. So excited! So blessed! I can't hardly believe all the ways God has answered so many prayers this year!
And we still haven't officially decided on her name. I have two in mind, but any suggestions would be great! The one we had picked out from before we ever got pregnant turns out to be on the top ten names for the year, and I just don't know if I can do that to her. I always had a unique (but not too weird) name, and liked it.
Any suggestions?
The neighborhood kids suggested "Angel" and "Princess". (Angel is their Rottweilers name, and Princess was a close second in the naming process.) They also suggested a few other very ethnic names, and the names of all the girls in their class that they had crushes on. And the original name that we picked, along with the nickname of this girl in their class. I never realized how easy it is to rhyme it with things. Also a consideration when naming a child...What will her 7 year old friends rhyme it with? Josie Grossy? Grody Jodi? (Remember those trash can, or garbage pail card things that were popular when we were little? We never had any, but my friend Jodi got the brunt of the Grodie Jodi character for a while.)

Well they don't all have to rhyme. Valerie Vomit was always my fav garbage pail kid :) The trick with the top ten names is you should go to the SSN website and they break it down by top ten names in the STATE. SO maybe your national top ten name is only that because it popular and CA or NY and you don't live there so who cares?! I think you should name her Katie :)
P.S. You should be a pro after naming all those bedding collections! Think European cities.
Hi there. This is Wendy's cousin and Katie's sis in law, Laura. My only suggestion is what ever you do don't use Madison, Emma, or Emily. I work in an ob docs office, and those are the MOST used names. Cute as they are, they are over used. I can also suggest the name I would have used if I had another girl, Scarlett. But I like color names, I've already got a Violet and a Hazel. =). Can't wait to see her.
I know you'll pick a great name. I like color names too, Blake wouldn't go for Violet or Olive but I love 'em. I can't wait to make a trip to see you and the new baby (when you're ready of course). We need to get up there and see everyone. Your house looks warm and welcoming for your little girl!
As for your previous post...sometimes ignorance is bliss. Hope you don't get too overwhelmed by too much information. I've had to just let some things go and trust in God's grace and remember that He is the ultimate caretaker of my little ones...I can't protect them from everything. It feels a lot better than stressing about every possible hazard.
Can't wait to see pics of _______!
